Reese's latest double-double fuels Game 3 rout as Dream take 2-1 Finals lead

Angel Reese posted her second straight 20-point, 10-rebound game as the Atlanta Dream routed the Golden State Valkyries 97-71 in Game 3 to take a 2-1 WNBA Finals lead.

The Atlanta Dream are one step closer to their first WNBA championship. Powered by Angel Reese's latest double-double, Atlanta routed the Golden State Valkyries 97-71 in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals on Wednesday night to take a 2-1 series lead.

Reese set the tone for the Dream on both ends, barking at opponents, teammates and even the officials while powering Atlanta to a commanding win before a sold-out crowd of 17,099 at State Farm Arena. 'Y'all not taking this from us, and that's in my heart,' the three-time All-Star said afterward. 'Like, I'm not letting you take this.' With her second straight 20-point, 10-rebound outing, Reese joined A'ja Wilson as the only players to hit those marks in consecutive Finals games.

The Dream finally broke out offensively, shooting a series-high 49.3% from the field and knocking down nine three-pointers, their most of the series. 'I knew it was coming, especially back home,' Reese said. 'And when you shoot 49%, I mean, you win games.' Rhyne Howard added 16 points, four assists and four rebounds, Naz Hillmon chipped in 15, DeWanna Bonner scored 12 off the bench, and Jordin Canada finished with 10 points, six rebounds and eight assists.

Golden State never found its rhythm. The Valkyries committed 17 turnovers and shot just 34.8% from the floor. Gabby Williams led the team with 15 points, while Tiffany Hayes added 14 off the bench. 'I think this game, they wanted it more than us, and that's not who we are,' Hayes said. Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase lamented the team's lack of togetherness: 'The will is there, the want to is there, but the fight together, I'm missing.'
