Tour de France UK stages in detail - where can you watch?

The full route for the 2027 Tour de France is announced in Paris, with street-by-street details of the six stages in the UK revealed.

The full street-by-street route for the six British stages that will open the 2027 Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes has been unveiled in Paris, marking the first time both races have started in the same country outside France.

The men's race begins on 2 July with a 184km stage from Edinburgh across the border to Carlisle. Stage two is a gruelling 223km ride from Keswick in the Lake District to Liverpool, and the final UK leg on 4 July covers 223km to finish in Wales' capital, Cardiff.

The women's event starts on 30 July with an 85.7km race from Leeds to Manchester. Stage two runs 154.4km from Manchester to Sheffield, taking in Winnats Pass in the Peak District, before the grand depart concludes with an 18km team time trial in London, starting on Whitehall and passing Trafalgar Square and Tower Bridge.

Scotland's Oscar Onley, who rides for Netcompany Ineos and finished fourth in last year's Tour de France, called it 'a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity' and said he hopes to win a stage. Organisers hailed the announcement: Paul Bush, managing director of the Grand Depart GB 2027, said the routes showcase what a 'spectacular stage' Scotland, England and Wales will provide, while UK sports minister Stephanie Peacock echoed the enthusiasm and highlighted £32m of funding behind the races.

The Tour last visited Britain in 2014, when more than 2.5 million fans lined the roadsides in Yorkshire. Officials will hope the 2027 'Super Grand Depart' can reignite a similar passion for cycling across the country.
