Tucker, out of NFL since 2025 sexual misconduct allegations, joins Chiefs

Kansas City has signed veteran kicker Justin Tucker to its practice squad, giving cover for Harrison Butker after a difficult start to the season.

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed veteran kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad, bringing back a five-time All-Pro who has not played in the NFL since 2024.

Tucker, who turns 37 next month, missed last season while serving a 10-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy. He completed that suspension as a free agent and became eligible for reinstatement last November, when he had a tryout with the New Orleans Saints.

His return follows allegations reported by The Baltimore Banner in February 2025 that 16 massage therapists from eight Baltimore-area spas and wellness centers accused him of sexual misconduct. The alleged conduct was reported to have occurred between 2012 and 2016, during his first five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Tucker has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

Baltimore released Tucker in May 2025, ending a 13-year run that included seven Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl victory in his rookie season. At the time, he was also coming off the weakest season of his career, missing 10 kicks in 2024.

In Kansas City, Tucker is expected to provide cover for Harrison Butker, who has missed five of 16 field-goal attempts this season, including two in Sunday's loss to Seattle. Coach Andy Reid said Butker would still receive most of the practice repetitions this week and described the situation as fluid. Tucker was one of three kickers to work out for Kansas City on Tuesday, while Butker remained the only kicker on the 53-man roster on Wednesday morning.
