Sources: Jags LT Harrison out for season after surgery reveals torn ACL
Jaguars left tackle Anton Harrison will miss the rest of the season after arthroscopic surgery revealed a torn ACL in his right knee, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have lost left tackle Anton Harrison for the rest of the season after arthroscopic surgery revealed a torn ACL in his right knee, league sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Harrison, 24, underwent arthroscopic surgery on Thursday, which was when the full extent of the injury — suffered earlier — was discovered, ESPN's Michael DiRocco reports.
Harrison was hurt while blocking on a running play, a sweep to the right by Bhayshul Tuten. He appeared to grab his right knee after disengaging from a block and went down to the ground.
The 27th overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, Harrison was moved from right tackle to left tackle during training camp this year, and the Jaguars picked up his fifth-year option in April — a sign of how highly the team values the young lineman.
Jacksonville now faces a significant hole on the blind side of its offensive line for the remainder of the season. Losing a starting left tackle — particularly one the club had just committed to through a fifth-year option — is a major blow to their ambitions.
Further details on Harrison's recovery timeline are expected in the coming days.
